A few days ago I showed you the underwear brand I created with a friend: Amusement Permanent!
Everything is hand made. Nothing too complicated, but a lot of hours of work! That’s why the prices of the sets are high. So, for those with more time than money, I’ll explain to you how to make the panties at home 😉
- A 100% cotton panties with no elastin
- DMC threads
- An embroidery needle
- A small pair of sewing scissors
- A pencil
- Textile glue
- A ruler
- A sheet of paper
- An embroidery hoop
- A size 3 crochet
On the pantie’s edge, make a mark with a pencil every centimetre. Then, with a needle and DMC thread, sew a regular scallop stitch (using the marks to guide you) along the edge of the pantie.
Use the scallop stitch as a base to crochet all the way around the panties with your chosen stitch (you can look at tutorials on Youtube if you haven’t used a crochet before. I have to admit I asked my mother to do it!).
Print and trace with a pencil the lip pattern on the front of the panties, and then embroider by chain-stitching the outside of the lips.
Reinforce the embroidery by coating it with textile glue, and once the glue is completely dry, very carefully cut the interior of the lips along the embroidery.
Once the cutting is done, don’t hesitate to put more glue on the edge of the hole to reinforce it, you never know haha 😉
This DIY can be found in the last Paulette Magazine “Je suis une fille culottée”, a very girl power edition!
